Supporters of the Month: Our MY Scholarship Donors
A new school year is just around the corner, and as we prepare to welcome our students back to the classroom, we want to take a moment to say thank you.
Every school year brings new lessons, challenges, and opportunities to learn. For some of our students, having the opportunity to continue their English education is possible thanks to the people who choose to support the Maya Youth program. Through your support, we are able to provide scholarships to students who are committed to their education and make the most of the opportunity to learn English. Your support helps make it possible for them to keep learning, practicing, and building skills that can become useful tools for their future.
But your support goes beyond scholarships.
Throughout the school year, our students take part in workshops and activities that allow them to explore different topics while practicing English. A lesson about a new subject can become an opportunity to learn new vocabulary, share ideas, and connect what they are learning in the classroom with the world around them.
We are also grateful for the immersion students who have taken the time to connect with our English students. Sharing what daily life is like in another city, talking about their work, or simply participating in a cultural exchange can become a meaningful learning experience. These conversations give our students a chance to practice the language they are learning in a real context, while also learning about another person’s culture and way of life. Sometimes, a simple conversation can open a door to a world that a student has never experienced before.
Another important part of our school is our library. We are thankful to everyone who has donated books and school supplies over the years. A book can give a student a chance to discover a new story, learn about a different place, or see the world from another perspective. A pencil, a pen, or a box of crayons may seem like a small contribution, but in a classroom, these materials become tools for creating and expressing ideas.
Each type of support plays a different role, but together they help create more opportunities for our students. Financial donations help provide scholarships and support educational activities. Books and school supplies enrich the resources available at school. Cultural exchanges give students opportunities to practice their language and connect with people beyond their community. Each one of these contributions tells our students that there are people who believe in their education and want to see them continue moving forward.
As we begin another school year, we want to thank every person who has supported the Maya Youth program and trusted our mission. Whether you have contributed financially, donated educational materials, shared your time, or connected with one of our students, you have been part of their learning journey.
We look forward to another year of classes, workshops, new experiences, and new opportunities to learn. Most importantly, we hope to continue counting on your support as we begin this new chapter together.
Thank you for believing in our students, for believing in what we do, and for continuing to believe in the mission and vision of Na’atik. Your support allows us to continue creating opportunities for our students and working toward the future we envision for them and our community.
Thank you for being part of the Na’atik family.
As we begin this new school year, we invite you to continue being part of this journey. If you are already supporting a Maya Youth student, thank you for making their education possible. If you have not yet renewed your sponsorship, we hope you will consider continuing your support for another school year.
And if you are a newsletter subscriber who has been following our work and learning more about our students, we invite you to take the next step and become a donor. Your support, in any amount, can help us continue providing scholarships, educational activities, learning materials, and meaningful opportunities for our students.
Together, we can help make another year of learning, growth, and new opportunities possible. Thank you for believing in our students and for being part of their journey.
