The Na’atik Library
Our Library
Located on the second floor of our vibrant school, the Na’atik library stands as a cornerstone of linguistic exploration and cultural immersion. The space is lined with colorful, literary-inspired murals and the shelves that contain a collection of more than 2,000 books in English, Spanish, and Yucatec Maya.
From children’s books, to literary novels, to graded readers, the library offers a rich selection of resources tailored to language learners of all levels and ages. Here, students can expand their vocabulary, increase their fluency, and deepen their understanding of global cultures.
Beyond its books, the library serves as a hub of activity, with regular events, workshops, and gatherings that foster conversation, collaboration, and cultural exchange. This dynamic space has been growing and thriving since its inauguration in 2018 thanks to our committed students and generous donors, especially April Scott, and David and Brenda Fry.
Make a donation.
Our library, Library Activities Coordinator, books, materials, computers and games are fully donor supported. The quality and breadth of our collection changes the lives of our students. You can be part of that today.
We are also thrilled to accept donations of reading materials. If you are coming to Na’atik and would like to bring reading materials to donate, we have wishlists in both US and Mexico Amazon.
Please reach out to our librarian at library@naatikmexico.org in order to discuss any materials you wish to donate that are not on the wishlist.
We are specifically looking to expand our collection of:
books designed for English language learners (such as graded readers)
recent non-fiction books for young learners up through adolescents
bilingual English/Spanish books
poetry for school-aged students
fiction for young learners through adolescents
books in Spanish
and all of the books listed on our Amazon Mexico wishlist, which you can find here:
Attend our events!
The Na’atik Library hosts a range of exciting events each month and all students, English and MaS, are invited to attend. We have a Board Game Night once a week on Wednesdays, we have Science Club events, and Art Workshops, as well as an Intercultural Conversation Hour, and more!
