Immersion is the best way to learn a foreign language, however not everyone has the luxury of spending long periods of time abroad. Our online program features a curricumlum especialy designed to bring the advantages of in-person immersion to you at home. Cominbing classes with profesional native speaking teachers, dynamic webinars and on going assesment, this program will help you reach language goals on your timeframe.

Na’atik is a non profit organization, and your program fees help us to offer subsidized language programs for our local students, allowing them access to educational and careers opportunities that would otherwise be denied to them.     Each booking subsidizes our English language program for the local community, so every booking makes education more affordable for our local students.

  • All Spanish packages contain a video presentation in addition to the class hours.

    Packages of 10 hours or more also contain a PDF coursebook for your level and one webinar class.

    Packages of 20 hours contain an additional webinar.

    We are always working on additional content for our Spanish and Maya courses, so check back in the future to see what is new!

  • Na'atik offers classes for students who want one on one attention, or to groups, whether friends or family.

    Please note Na'atik does not have groups which can be joined by individual students.

  • Our teachers deliver classes using Microsoft Teams. It is not neccesary to sign up or download the program to join classes. You can join straight from your preferred internet browser. Full instructions will be provided to students prior to their first class.

  • In cases where you cannot attend your classes, we ask that you inform the program coordinator as soon as possible.

    If you provide over 24 hours notice we will be able to rearrange your class for another time. Classes canceled with less than 24 hours cannot be rearranged.

    If you have trouble accessing your class please contact the program coordinator immediately. Your teacher will always wait 15 minutes after the start time of the class in case of technical problems or lateness.

  • We know life can be busy, so if you need to pause your classes, we can accommodate breaks of up to 6 months.

    If you do not wish to continue with your classes you can cancel your package at any time and receive a refund of 60% of the value of your unused classes.

  • The primary factor in your teacher assignment will be availabilty for the hours that best suit you. We also take into consideration your answers to our placement test, which gives us an idea of your current level and language goals.

    All of our teachers are trained to work with students of all levels, ages and learning styles.

  • Most of our teachers are based in the beautiful Mexican state of Quintana Roo. This is where Na'atik is located, in the heart of the Zona Maya in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. Quintana Roo uses Eastern Standard Time year round (no daylight savings time) which is UTC -5.

    Some of our teachers are located in the state of Yucatán, which uses Central Standard Time (UTC -6) for the whole year.

    If you are unsure at all about what time your class is, especially if the time changes in your time zone for daylight saving or other reasons, please check with your teacher beforehand.

    We do our best to accommodate students from any time zone, and have students from all over the world.

  • Our Maya teachers generally teach using Spanish, and a good level of Spanish is recommend for those classes. We do have some Maya teachers who have a good level of English, however availability may be limited. Please let us know your level of Spanish when inquiring about Maya classes.

  • Your classes can be arranged to coincide with your availability and your time zone. Our teachers have different availability depending on their time zone and availability.

    The day, time and frequency of your classes can arranged to suit your needs, with classes of one or two hours available. Some students take one class per week, while others opt to have more classes.

  • We do not have a set start date. You can begin classes with Na'atik whenever you are ready.

  • Our prefered payment method is through PayPal, however if this is not possible for you we can accept payment by direct bank transfer. Our team are available to help set up payment if you have any difficulties.

  • Na'atik can provide you with a certificate showing the number of hours studied with us.

  • Our Spanish curriculum is based on the rules of grammar laid out by the Spanish Royal Academy, the institution responsible for regularizing the use of language throughout the Spanish speaking world. However we also use vocabulary and idioms specific to Mexico and the Yucatán peninsula.

    Our Maya classes teach modern Yucatec Maya, the mostly widely spoken Mayan dialect, which is used thoughout the peninsula.
