Jóvenes en Acción
Three Na’atik Students Selected for Prestigious Jóvenes en Acción Program in the United States
We are excited to announce that three exceptional students from Na’atik, Hugo, Yana, and Neily, have been selected to take part in the prestigious Jóvenes en Acción (Youth in Action) program. This U.S.-Mexico initiative, supported by the U.S. Department of State and the Mexican Secretariat of Public Education, empowers young leaders to create social change in their communities through an international exchange experience.
Emerging Leaders from Felipe Carrillo Puerto
Hugo, Yana, and Neily are not only dedicated language learners but also passionate, socially conscious students. Their commitment to improving their community has shone through in their academic efforts at CBTIS 72 and their continued participation in Na’atik’s English programs. Their selection for this program reflects their drive, their potential, and the strength of their ideas.
An Educational Experience with Purpose
The students will travel to the United States this summer to participate in a four-week leadership program. There, they will attend workshops on civic engagement, project development, and cultural exchange. They will also collaborate with youth from across Mexico and the United States to design a community impact project that they will later implement in Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
Their proposed project addresses an issue that they identified as important in their town. Through this initiative, they aim to bring lasting, positive change to the lives of others.
Pride and Inspiration for Na’atik
We are incredibly proud of Hugo, Yana, and Neily for this achievement. Their selection is not only a personal milestone but also a reflection of the supportive environment they have helped build at Na’atik and within the local community. It is inspiring to see young people from a rural town take their place on the international stage with confidence and purpose.
This moment also highlights the importance of accessible education and opportunities for youth in underrepresented regions. At Na’atik, we believe in nurturing students who are ready to make a difference and we know these three will return with new skills, ideas, and energy.
A Journey Worth Following
We look forward to following their journey and supporting them when they return to carry out their project. Their story is just beginning and we are proud to be part of it.
To Hugo, Yana, and Neily, your community stands with you and believes in everything you are set to accomplish. Congratulations.
