The town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto is also incredibly safe, I walked and biked many nights and never felt uncomfortable. During the festival in town for Janal Pixán I also felt completely safe. People are very respectful in the town, one of the safest places I have travelled.

Morning: Prepare a traditional meal with a local Maya family and share stories about food, traditions, and women’s roles.
Afternoon: Enjoy a hands-on textile or craft workshop.

WATER, LAND & GATHERING
Experience the natural world through a Maya perspective.
Morning: Visit a cenote with options to swim, explore, or relax by the water.
Afternoon: Discover the cultural and ecological importance of Melipona bees through a local apiary visit and honey tasting or hands-on activity.
Evening: Enjoy a Maya cultural evening with regional food, music, stories, and basic Maya phrases.

Final Evening | Celebration Dinner
Enjoy regional food, music, storytelling, and a closing reflection on the women and experiences that made the journey meaningful.
DAY 5

HISTORY, ADVENTURE & RUINS
Discover Maya history, pirate legends, at the Chacchobén Ruins and Bacalar, the Seven Colors Lagoon.
Morning | Explore Maya Ruins
Enjoy a guided visit to the ancient Maya ruins of Chacchobén, hidden in the jungle and rich in history. Keep an eye out for spider monkeys in the treetops!
Afternoon | Discover Bacalar
Visit the colorful town of Bacalar and enjoy lunch at a lagoon-side restaurant (lunch at your own expense). Take a scenic boat tour through the famous pirate channel and swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Seven Colors Lagoon.
Historic Finale | Fort & Museum
End the day exploring Bacalar’s historic fort and museum, learning about the region’s fascinating pirate history and past conflicts.

Absolutely! You are welcome to join as a solo traveler. This journey is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded women, build friendships, and discover the beauty of the Yucatán Peninsula together.
You don't need to be fluent in Spanish or Maya to enjoy this experience, but a basic understanding of Spanish is strongly suggested. Our team will help bridge language barriers so you can connect with local hosts and fully enjoy the cultural activities.
The journey combines cultural workshops, community experiences, traditional cooking, artisan activities, and excursions to some of the region's most remarkable destinations. You'll also have opportunities to learn directly from local Maya women and discover their traditions.
Your accommodation is an important part of your experience. Our team will share details about your lodging, room arrangements, and what to expect before your arrival, so you can feel comfortable and prepared.
