How Na’atik Turned Transparency Into a Platinum Level Standard
Na’atik is proud to share that we have earned the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid, the highest level of recognition for nonprofit accountability and impact reporting. This achievement reflects not only the strength of our programs, but the systems, values, and practices that guide how we work every day.
Why Transparency Matters?
In the nonprofit sector, transparency is essential to building trust. Donors, partners, and communities need confidence that resources are managed responsibly and that programs are producing meaningful, measurable outcomes. Candid’s Platinum Seal represents the highest standard of openness, requiring organizations to publicly share comprehensive and current information about their governance, finances, strategy, and results.
For Na’atik, transparency is not a box to check. It is a core principle that shapes how we make decisions, evaluate our impact, and steward the trust placed in us by our supporters and the communities we serve.
How We Reached the Platinum Level?
Earning the Platinum Seal required a rigorous and intentional process. Our team conducted a thorough review of organizational data and strengthened internal systems to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility. We shared detailed information through Candid’s platform, including our program design and reach, financial structure and allocation of resources, governance and leadership practices, and clearly defined outcomes and long term goals.
This work depended on collaboration across teams and a strong culture of accountability. We would like to recognize Nick Brennand, our Fundraising Manager, for his leadership and contributions throughout this process. Nick played a key role in aligning our fundraising and donor stewardship practices with the highest transparency standards, strengthening reporting systems, and ensuring that our public information clearly and accurately reflects Na’atik’s work and impact. His attention to detail and commitment to best practices were instrumental in meeting Candid’s most rigorous criteria.
What This Means for Our Community and Supporters?
Receiving Candid’s Platinum Seal reinforces our responsibility to remain open, accountable, and reflective. For donors and partners, it provides assurance that Na’atik is a trusted steward of resources and a results driven organization. For the communities we serve, it affirms that our work is guided by integrity, respect, and a long term commitment to impact.
This recognition also strengthens our ability to grow responsibly. Organizations that prioritize transparency are better positioned to build strong partnerships, attract institutional support, and scale their impact with intention. As we continue expanding educational opportunities for students in Felipe Carrillo Puerto and surrounding Maya communities, we remain committed to sharing our progress, learning from our work, and holding ourselves to the highest standards of nonprofit practice.
We are grateful to our team, board, donors, and community members who make this work possible. Achieving the Platinum Seal is not an endpoint. It is a standard we are committed to upholding as we continue advancing our mission with clarity, trust, and purpose.
