Frida's Nutella Frappé

Young people in Carrillo Puerto (pre-pandemic!) spent their social time together hanging out in the central plaza, going out to have pizza or to one of the cafés in town to sip on a cold, sweet and delicious frappé. These frappés are blended, sweet, icy, coffee drinks filled with all kinds of treats from simple chocolate syrup to M&Ms, cajeta (goat milk caramel), Oreos and of course topped with whipped cream and a piece of chocolate or fruit.

One of our English language students, Frida, has been in lockdown during the past 11 months but is proud to say that one thing she’s mastered during this time, is the frappé. If you’re craving sweet, icy, coffee goodness, we highly recommend you blend one of these up.

Makes 1 frappé.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 tbsp Nutella*

  • 2 cups ice

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp instant coffee

  • M&Ms (optional)

PREPARATION:

  1. Place all the ingredients into a blender

  2. Blend until you have a thick consistency

  3. Serve in a glass

  4. Hand stir in M&Ms

  5. Squeeze in some chocolate syrup

  6. Top with whipped cream

  7. Finally, place your favorite chocolate, cookie or piece of fruit on the very top

  8. *You can replace Nutella with cajeta or Oreos
