Sugeidy's Arroz con Leche

Sugeidy, Na’atik’s fantastic receptionist and administrative assistant, has shared her mom’s Arroz con Leche recipe. Nothing warms the heart and belly more than an incredible mug or bowl of Arroz con Leche. A favorite among Mexicans, this comfort food is easy to make and is an incredible dessert or snack. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup of white rice (approx 250 grams)

  • 1 can of condensed milk 

  • 2 liters of milk (approx 4.5 cups)

  • 3 cups of water

  • 1 piece of cinnamon

  • 3 tsp of vanilla

PREPARATION:

  1. Clean the rice in a sieve until the water runs clean

  2. In a saucepan, bring the the water, milk, condensed milk and rice to a boil 

  3. When it begins boiling, add the cinnamon and vanilla

  4. Boil on low flame for approx 15 - 20 minutes 

  5. Serve warm or cold and enjoy!
