Last year one of our high school students, David, traveled all the way to Bucharest, Romania to compete at Infomatrix, an international computer project competition which brings the world’s best IT students together. The competition is not just about promoting creativity and professional excellence in the next generation of changemakers in IT, but it also promotes intercultural experiences through the involvement of students and teachers from all around the world.David traveled with his teammate, Alexis, and their Maestro Aban to present their project: “Rhythmic Colors”.  Not only did David and his team win third place, but David’s English was so good he was able to help translate for his teacher and teammate as well as for other teams in the competition. David and Alexis also got the opportunity to explore Bucharest before returning home with their prize. David said “I enjoyed learning about the castles and meeting new people. It was really fun but very cold.”Unfortunately, the 2020 Infomatrix competition has been canceled due to COVID-19 but David is still keeping up with his coding and computer skills, and of course his English as much as he can. We are so proud of David and all of our students’ achievements.
